Psalm 94
This morning I write from Camp Christian as I prepare to return to work on Thursday. This is a great place to retreat. I spent yesterday meditating on the last three months and the journey I have been on. Where is it God has taken me? One of my learning is that in this new world we live in, we need to change. We do need to be fiscally responsible. However, getting caught up on the “there is not enough” mentality is not going to help. We need to see with new eyes the gifts and talents we do have and find ways of using these gifts to the fullest as we seek to minister. I am convinced that God is calling to feed 5000 with 2 fish and 5 loaves. God has given us all we need to do the job.
Yesterday, Julie and I traveled 15 miles. We traveled all of Three Creeks metro parks bike path all the way to Livingston Ave. and back. It was a great trip surrounded by the beauty of nature. I am now only 7 miles from reaching my goal of 500 miles. I will surpass that before Thursday. We will have to find ways to keep up our exercise program when I return to work. Probably means that we will be riding in the afternoons.
Lord Jesus, For this time apart I am truly thankful. For the many changes that had to be made I am grateful that they still allowed for a time of sabbatical. Be with me in these last two days as I seek to ready myself for your call to renewed ministry in the midst of changes. Amen.
